Our Lord established the Catholic Church 2,000 years ago to teach and sanctify in His name. The teachings of Our Lord and the Catholic Church will help us lead a more abundant life (John 10:10). They will form our mind, heart, and soul to help us lead a good and virtuous life. They will truly liberate and set us free from the spirit of the world, which so often brings us down. The teachings of Our Lord and the Church will help us know and love God in this life so we can spend eternity with Him in the next.
Unfortunately, many Catholics "tune out" when they hear the phrase "religious education." They think that it’s something boring, or that they already learned "that stuff" in elementary school. But nothing could be further from the truth. Here’s why:
God is the author of all things. He knows all things. He knows every hair on our head. He knows how we will be most happy. This being true, the study of God is really one of the most intriguing propositions in life. We just need to make the time and to be exposed to good teaching and resources.
