On June 23-25, St. Maximilian Kolbe's cheerleading teams attended a private UCA camp where they learned a variety of skills and stunts for the upcoming school year. The squads are coached by Melissa Drake and Lauren Segarra.

FYI - The warm-up suits and bags have finally arrived. Stay tuned for an upcoming practice date where the girls can pick up the merchandise before football season.

METZLER'S GYMNASTICS CENTER'S
SUMMER CHEERLEADING CAMP

Dates: July 7-11 - August 11-15
Times: M-TH 10am-3pm and F 10am-12pm
Prices: $200 for individual sign up or $165 for team sign up--minimum of 10 girls

Ability levels: All cheerleaders will do a general warm-up together and then will be split up with different instructors according to their skill levels. Skill levels will be determined during the general warm up on day 1. Skill levels are beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

During camp hours the cheerleaders will work on various drills and techniques to achieve their individual tumbling and jump goals.

10:00-12:00 Warm-up, Skill progressions, Tumbling
12:00-1:00 Lunch (please send a bag lunch)
1:00-3:00 Jumps, Tumbling stations, Strength

The Red Squad competed in the Philadelphia Archdiocesan competition held at West Chester University. They performed an amazing routine and had a great time. It was a wonderful moment to end the cheerleading year!

The St. Maximillian Kolbe cheerleading squads attended a private UCA camp this summer (2007). It was a three-day boot day which taught the girls the fundamental skills of cheerleading. The Red and White Squads both earned Superior trophies for their efforts at camp. Eight St. Maximilian Kolbe cheerleaders auditioned and honored with the highly coveted All-Star award. These girls will be invited to perform at the 2007 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade with the exclusive Universal Cheerleaders Association All-Stars. Support the athletics at St. Max’s and promote more school spirit! The cheerleaders lead a crowd at a game and captivate an audience for competitions. The cheerleading program will be supervised under a structured environment that teaches a variety of skills—stunts, dance, cheer, gymnastics, and jumps. There will be a competition Red Squad and a non-competition White Squad.
